LG Electronics is set to showcase its vision for future living at IFA 2024, unveiling a comprehensive range of AI-powered home solutions under the theme ‘Experience, Affectionate Intelligence (AI) Home’. This collection of innovations aims to cater to diverse needs and lifestyles, revolutionising home living.
At the heart of LG’s Affectionate Intelligence Home is LG ThinQ ON, an advanced AI hub designed to deliver tailored comfort and convenience. ThinQ ON integrates seamlessly with LG’s latest AI appliances, forming the core of the LG AI Home Solution. Powered by empathetic AI technology, this system adapts to users’ habits, preferences, and routines over time, creating a personalised experience that simplifies everyday life.
Visitors to the LG stand at IFA 2024 will first encounter the AI Home Gate, an immersive LED media wall that showcases how LG’s AI technology is used within the home to enhance customer lifestyles.
Once through the AI Home Gate, attendees will experience the ThinQ ON hub and its sophisticated generative AI technology. With natural language understanding, ThinQ ON allows users to control a wide range of appliances, IoT devices, and services via conversational voice commands. This creates a truly personalised AI-powered home, managing everything from household tasks to helping children sleep better.
AI home solutions
The Second Youth Home demonstrates LG’s commitment to improving the lives of older people by simplifying household tasks and enriching leisure activities. Powered by ThinQ ON, this space highlights how voice recognition and appliance coordination can ease home management. For instance, the AI system can automatically set the dryer to the ‘Activewear’ programme when the washing machine finishes. The hub also provides voice briefings, reduces stress by offering assistance with tasks such as booking taxis, and estimates travel times.
The Affectionate Home zone focuses on AI solutions for families, children, and pets. The Self-Driving AI Home Hub can adjust settings to meet children’s needs, such as activating Sleep Mode by dimming the lights and creating a starlight effect to help them fall asleep. Additionally, the hub supports learning by using AI to generate stories based on children’s drawings. For pet owners, the system manages air quality and cleans floors automatically, while the LG AeroCat, a cat bed with an air purifier, offers a comfortable space for cats and fresher air for their owners.
In the Delightful Home zone, ThinQ ON enhances culinary experiences by providing personalised recipe suggestions and nutritional analysis. Visitors can also enjoy live cooking demonstrations, including the ‘AI Talking Cooking Show’, and witness how LG’s AI ovens and the InstaView with MoodUP fridge transform kitchen environments.
Smart green home
The Smart Green Home showcases LG’s energy-efficient appliances, such as the Therma V R290 Monobloc air-to-water heat pump and advanced HVAC systems. ThinQ ON optimises energy consumption by adjusting device settings in real time, based on user routines and electricity rates. This helps households reduce energy costs while maintaining comfort and efficiency.
Expanding the AI home ecosystem
In the LG Affectionate Intelligence zone, visitors can explore the scalability of LG’s AI solutions. ThinQ ON serves as the hub, utilising LG’s generative AI technology and security solutions to manage a broad IoT ecosystem. The zone also highlights how LG’s open AI ecosystem integrates third-party services to enrich the user experience, demonstrating how even non-AI appliances can connect to the system through IoT sensors.
The AI to the Core zone showcases LG’s latest AI-driven technologies, including the AI DD™ and AI DUAL Inverter, which offer more precise control and personalisation for home appliances.
