Qorvo has announced the launch of its latest system-on-chip (SoC) solution for smart home devices, which is now available for sampling with key customers. This next-generation IoT solution incorporates Qorvo’s unique ConcurrentConnect technology, offering support for multiple networks, including Matter, Zigbee, and Bluetooth Low Energy, in a scalable and energy-efficient package.
The QPG6200L is the first product built on Qorvo’s new low-power wireless connectivity platform, designed to meet the challenges of today’s rapidly changing smart home landscape. It ensures seamless communication and compatibility across multiple wireless standards. The QPG6200L can support multiple protocols simultaneously on separate channels, providing superior RF performance and reliability for various consumer IoT devices, such as smart lighting, sensors, and home hubs. It also features a built-in secure element and is PSA Certified Level 2, ensuring enhanced security for IoT applications.
“The QPG6200L adds to Qorvo’s leadership in smart home connectivity,” said Marc Pegulu, General Manager of Qorvo’s Connectivity Systems business. “Featuring our unique ConcurrentConnect technology not only enhances device performance across multiple networks but also eases the transition to Matter, offering users the best of both worlds without leaving any Zigbee devices behind.”
The QPG6200L sets new standards in energy efficiency for multi-standard SoCs, with an industry-leading sleep current of less than 1 µA—30% lower than competing solutions—making it ideal for low-power applications, such as battery-powered sensors and energy-harvesting devices. Its ultra-low power consumption extends battery life and supports more sustainable smart home technologies.
As the global smart home market continues to grow, with IDC predicting sales to reach 1.2 billion units by 2028, the QPG6200L is set to play a vital role in the next generation of connected devices. Qorvo provides smart home manufacturers with a turnkey solution for Matter over Thread, simplifying the design process while delivering strong security and performance across the network. The PSA Level 2 certification ensures the QPG6200L meets stringent security standards, protecting against common software vulnerabilities.
