EnOcean is setting new standards in wireless technology with the introduction of its latest radio transceiver family. The new TCM 600 and TCM 615 devices offer significantly increased memory capacity and much greater computational power, while also reducing energy consumption. These advancements pave the way for the development of next-generation, differentiated products built on EnOcean technology.
“This latest wireless device family further extends the leadership of EnOcean products in creating a smart, connected and sustainable world. With a significant performance boost, TCM 600 and TCM 615 enable differentiated applications based on the latest EnOcean technology,” explained Matthias Kassner, Vice President Product Marketing at EnOcean.
TCM 600 and TCM 615 provide up to four times the computation power and up to eight times the available user application memory compared to the previous TCM 3xx and TCM 5xx product generations. This dramatically expands the available resources for user applications.
The TCM 615 offers a simple, compact, and cost-efficient solution for integrating EnOcean radio communication into OEM products. It is pin-to-pin compatible with its predecessor, the TCM 515, and uses the same reliable ESP3 interface protocol. As a result, users can upgrade existing designs from TCM 515 to TCM 615 without the need for hardware or software adjustments, immediately benefiting from the latest enhancements.
Meanwhile, the TCM 600 allows customers to incorporate their own applications alongside the latest EnOcean radio technology in a single module. This makes it an ideal choice for space-constrained wireless products, such as ultra-compact relays and dimmers.
Energy efficiency and enhanced performance in a compact form
“EnOcean continues to lead the way for a connected world that is both smart and sustainable. The increased performance enables new, feature-rich applications based on the latest security requirements while the reduced energy consumption further enhances the energy savings realised by EnOcean solutions,” Kassner added. Upholding the commitment EnOcean has towards sustainable solutions, this latest generation reduces power consumption by up to 50% which significantly improves the energy footprint of connected solutions.
Both the TCM 600 and TCM 615 conform to the open, industry-leading EnOcean radio communication standard, ISO1453-3-10 and ISO14543-3-11. Known for its high reliability and low power consumption, this standard uses small, redundant messages, making it ideal for energy-harvesting and low-power applications.
“With its latest radio transceiver family, EnOcean is underlining its strong commitment to the EnOcean Alliance ecosystem. Both TCM 600 and TCM 615 significantly extend the performance and sustainability envelope and therefore represent an important milestone for sustainable, wireless connectivity. Thanks to their enhanced performance, focus on sustainability and space efficiency, these modules are ideal for the implementation of a wide range of solutions that are both technologically advanced and environmentally conscious,” concluded Kassner.
