Tech Show London has announced its line-up for its Mainstage theatre at the upcoming event on 6-7th March at ExCeL London.
The Mainstage features renowned figures such as Professor Brian Cox, Dame Stephanie Shirley, and Dragon’s Den alumni Piers Linney, among others.
A wide range of cutting-edge topics from the universe’s mysteries to the future of AI and digital democracy will be covered.
Representation in tech is incredibly important – Tech Show London’s Mainstage features a diverse lineup, with 63% female speakers and 31% representing other underrepresented groups.
Day 1: A Journey from Cosmic Mysteries to AI Insights
Tech Show London kicks off on 6th March with an MC Welcome from Zoe Kleinman, Technology Editor at the BBC, setting the stage for a day filled with thought-provoking sessions.
Professor Brian Cox will captivate the audience with discussions on the universe’s mysteries, including black holes and the nature of reality.
Anne Boden, Founder of Starling Bank, will explore the role of AI in promoting inclusivity and transforming the UK economy.
A Fireside Chat featuring Tom Read from Government Digital Services and Gina Gill from the Ministry of Justice will address the Government’s preparedness for the next generation of digital services.
Dame Stephanie Shirley will share her insights on overcoming challenges in business and leadership.
Piers Linney, Executive Chairman & Co-Founder of Implement AI, will discuss the augmented human workforce and AI’s impact on customer experience and innovation.
Juleah Love from YSL Beauty and Delphine Helin will highlight the intersection of beauty tech and social impact.
The day will also feature a CTO Panel discussing the challenges and strategies of adapting technology teams in the era of Gen-AI, with insights from Christina Scott, PureGym’s Andy Caddy, EY’s Catriona Campbell MBE, and the Financial Times’ John Kundert.
Gina Neff from the University of Cambridge and Verity Harding from the Bennett Institute will delve into AI’s potential for societal good.
The day concludes with a Fireside Chat on the Post Office scandal, featuring Nick Wallis and Jason Coyne, offering valuable lessons for tech specialists.
Day 2: NASA, Ethical AI, and Digital Democracy
The second day starts with another warm welcome from Zoe Kleinman, followed by Dr. Carolyn Mercer from NASA sharing the latest in space exploration and the quest for extraterrestrial life.
Bernardo Mariano Junior from the United Nations will discuss the ethical use of AI in combating misinformation and disinformation.
Professor Hannah Critchlow from the University of Cambridge will talk about creating environments that enhance brain power and collective thinking.
Ollie Whitehouse from the National Cyber Security Centre and Zoe Kleinman will address the critical topic of cyber resilience and defending democracy.
The afternoon sessions include a panel on leveraging digital technology for a circular economy, featuring Professor Fiona Charnley, Cynthia Reynolds, Ken Webster, and Pablo van den Bosch.
Flavilla Fongang and Ellie Middleton will engage in a Fireside Chat on workplace diversity and neurodiversity, exploring strategies to ensure inclusivity.
The event wraps up with a session on AI in health and care, with Brhmie Balaram, the Head of AI Research & Ethics at the NHS AI Lab, and Reema Patel from Ipsos discussing meaningful patient and public involvement in AI data decisions.
