EchoStar Mobile, a subsidiary of EchoStar, announced that Swisscom, Switzerland’s ICT company, has enlisted the services of EchoStar Mobile and Actility to broaden its LoRaWAN IoT coverage across Europe.
EchoStar Mobile will be providing the necessary capacity for direct sensor-to-satellite operations, while Actility will facilitate the integration of Swisscom’s terrestrial and EchoStar Mobile’s satellite networks, enabling seamless network roaming through Actility’s ThingPark Exchange roaming hub.

Before partnering with EchoStar Mobile, Swisscom depended on terrestrial connectivity to offer IoT managed solutions for applications such as smart metering, environmental monitoring, tracking, agriculture, and smart building management. Now, Swisscom will provide customers with seamless integration of terrestrial and satellite networks and carrier-grade services via Actility’s ThingPark Exchange roaming hub.

EchoStar Mobile will be supplying Swisscom with multi-year IoT satellite connectivity services.
