Avalue Technology, a global industrial PC solution provider and a Titanium member of the Intel Internet of Things Solutions Alliance, endeavours to provide a complete range of smart retail, smart healthcare, smart manufacturing, smart transportation, and embedded solutions.
In the post-pandemic era, accelerated automation and digital transformation have caused a surge in data volume and complexity, increasing the urgency for companies to host their IT infrastructure in the cloud. To continuously enhance cloud flexibility, functionality and scale, the processing speed of high-performance-computing (HPC) workload must be accelerated to enable cloud-native supercomputers to maximise their value. Furthermore, 2023 is the year of explosive growth in AI.
With AI becoming the dominant trend in the market, the combination of AI and HPC is expected to improve IoT vertical applications, taking the leap from digital transformation to AI evolution. In view of this, Avalue Technology has launched two HPC servers, i.e., tower server HPS-SRSUTA and 4U rackmount server HPS-SRSU4A, to boost edge computing revolution, optimising operational performance, information security management, and sustainability of smart city, smart manufacturing, and medical, and transportation industries.
Avalue HPS-SRSU4A (4U rackmount) and HPS-SRSUTA (tower) industrial servers have built-in Avalue HPM-SRSUA motherboard, which is equipped with Intel 4th Gen. Xeon scalable processor (codenamed Sapphire Rapids). Designed specifically for the HPC market, 4th Gen. Xeon scalable processor has the most built-in accelerators of any CPU in the world, significantly improving its data processing capability. Its outstanding power supply and power consumption management not only improves response time of the entire platform but also helps customers achieve their sustainability goals. Furthermore, 4th Gen. Xeon scalable processor boasts advanced security technologies which reduce potential cyber security threats in enterprise cloud computing while speeding up performance at maximum workload.
Introducing a brand-new architectural design, Avalue HPS-SRSU4A/UTA servers feature PCIe 5.0 which transfers data at double the speed of its Gen. 4 version. Its motherboard is equipped with four sets of PCIe 5.0 x 16 slots and three sets of PCIe 5.0 x 4 slots, and six DDR5 4800 RDIMM memory modules with maximum memory capacity of up to 1.5TB. Having two 10-GbE Ethernet ports also increases data transfer rate between nodes, achieving ultra-low latency and maximising throughput in parallel computing. Both HPS-SRSU4A and HPS-SRSUTA have expandable I/O that can be upgraded according to the user’s requirements, supporting double-wide GPU, NVMe/SSD/RAID, and a wide variety of accelerator, providing abundant bandwidth through different types of expansion slots to streamline the deployment of edge computing devices and improve operating performance using the most efficient architecture. Furthermore, using Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) and Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI2.0) for remote system management, users can diagnose system health, upgrade firmware operating system, and schedule maintenance at any time.
Small in size yet highly scalable, Avalue HPS-SRSU4A and HPS-SRSUTA feature buttons on both sides of the chassis that open their top front cover, facilitating add-on cards swapping and maintenance. Available either barebone (L6) or fully assembled (L10), customers can switch between the two customised options without changing their existing architecture. With sustainability becoming a worldwide concern, future terminal applications will have to match performance with energy efficiency. In addition to its 80 PLUS Platinum certified power supply, HPS-SRSU4A and HPS-SRSUTA also benefit from their Intel 4th Gen. Xeon scalable processor’s built-in accelerators, which can increase per watt efficiency by 2.9x for targeted workloads, and its other function which can deliver up to 20% power savings for targeted workloads. In the case of a data centre operator, this means a 60% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions, helping companies expedite their net-zero transition to achieve sustainability. Avalue HPC servers HPS-SRSU4A and HPS-SRSUTA are ideal for scientific research and analysis, 3D simulation and construction, genetic engineering, automated manufacturing, and energy industry, and is the keystone for deploying IoT, edge computing and cloud architecture.
