Wialon, a global IoT and fleet management platform developed by software company Gurtam, has announced the winners of its 2024 IoT Project of the Year competition. The results were revealed just before GITEX Global in Dubai, showcasing innovative IoT solutions from around the world.
The annual competition highlights the potential of Wialon and other IoT solutions by featuring real-world applications that address key business challenges. It aims to drive the advancement of the IoT sector, inspire new ideas, and encourage organisations to explore the transformative impact of IoT on their operations.
This year’s contest saw over 100 entries from 45 countries, as Wialon’s global initiative aims to recognise the most inventive IoT, fleet, and asset management projects. Entries spanned a wide range of countries, including Australia, Brazil, Estonia, Honduras, India, Lebanon, Kenya, Mexico, the Netherlands, Nigeria, South Africa, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uruguay, and the USA, among others.
“From fuel management and fleet tracking to passenger security and industrial equipment monitoring, the breadth of IoT applications presented this year is truly inspiring,” said Andrei Liatsetski, Head of the Project Implementation Team at Wialon and the Head of the Jury of the contest. “The competition highlights how telematics and IoT technologies can be applied to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and business performance across diverse industries. Highlighting the transformative power of IoT and telematics, this initiative fosters innovation and encourages businesses to explore how IoT can revolutionize their operations.”

- Grand Prix: Afritrack, Tanzania – Real-time safety and incident management in the mining sector
- Best Public Transportation Digitalisation Solution: Filozof, Turkey – Optimising public transport infrastructure through digitalisation
- Best Roadworks Management Solution: HubLogiQ, Netherlands – Integrated fleet management with mobile traffic light control and dashcam integration
- Best Solution for Enhancing Security and Operational Control: GotYou Telematics, South Africa – Securing bulk haulage operations in South Africa
Government & corporate fleets (400+ vehicles):
- Grand Prix: Integrated Solutions, Iraq – Comprehensive fleet management and security for petroleum distribution
- Best Public Transportation Digitalisation Solution: Sarfaroz, Tajikistan – Smart public transport system in Dushanbe
- Best Agricultural Fleet Management Solution: GetGPS, Turkmenistan – Automated management for agricultural machinery
- Best Fleet and Driver Management Solution: Monitoring Net, Serbia – Tracking and fuel management for transport and logistics
