During the opening ceremony of the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2024), Viettel Group proudly presented its 5G chipset and Vi An – AI Human to the international technology community.
These innovations are among the 17 products showcasing Viettel’s technology ecosystem at MWC Barcelona 2024, the most significant annual connectivity event globally. This year marks Viettel’s seventh appearance at the conference, standing as the sole technology envoy from Vietnam.
Aligned with the event’s theme, “Future First”, Viettel’s offerings are categorised into four groups: network infrastructure, Cloud computing infrastructure, digital platforms, and future technologies. Displayed in a two-tiered space themed “S-Nation”, where ‘S’ stands for Smart, Sustainable, and the ‘S’ shape symbolises Vietnam.
At MWC 2024, Viettel unveiled the 5G DFE chip, a product of the company’s in-house semiconductor engineers. The chip achieves a computational capacity of 1 trillion operations per second, aligning with the 3GPP’s 5G standard and matching the performance of the top 10 semiconductor firms’ 5G DFE chips globally. Additionally, Viettel introduced an automated network optimisation system designed to enhance operational efficiency, minimise energy consumption, and autonomously address issues in both 5G and 4G networks. This system is in the process of being fully implemented and optimised in Vietnam and 10 other countries where Viettel operates.
The Cloud computing infrastructure segment features Viettel Cloud, offering data storage/processing infrastructure, application development platforms, and software as services for organisations and enterprises. This indigenous ecosystem is crucial for maintaining digital sovereignty, providing data storage/processing infrastructure for Vietnamese individuals and businesses within Vietnam.
Under the digital application/service category, Viettel displayed AI applications tailored for customer interaction, financial services, and entertainment. AI Human – Vi An, Vietnam’s first human-like AI, introduces an innovative artificial intelligence user interface. At MWC, Vi An interacts with customers in a friendly and natural manner.
Additionally, Viettel’s Digital Financial Platform (VDFP) facilitates the development of digital financial applications with features such as offline payments, extending digital finance to regions with sparse fixed and mobile network coverage.
The future technology product group includes Digital Twin, which utilises AI, IoT, and remote sensing data to create virtual spaces aimed at optimising urban operations.
“In participating in this conference, we are prepared to strategically collaborate with global technology corporations and transfer technology to partners to collectively develop the highest quality products for our customers. This represents the unique contribution Viettel brings to this international technology event,” stated Nguyen Dinh Chien, Deputy CEO of Viettel, responsible for Viettel’s presence at MWC 2024.
The Mobile World Congress MWC 2024 runs from 26-29 February in Barcelona.
