Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now offering the latest Wi-Fi 7 front-end modules (FEM) from Qorvo.
Wi-Fi 7, also known as IEEE 802.11be Extremely High Throughput (EHT), is the latest advancement in Wi-Fi technology. It operates over three bands (2.4, 5, and 6GHz), maximising spectrum usage. Wi-Fi 7 delivers faster data transfer rates, reduced latencies, and greater network capacity, making it suitable for high-traffic environments and enhancing performance in customer premises equipment, smart home devices, and portable consumer electronics including wearables.
The Qorvo QM42500 and QM45500 modules, which Mouser now stocks, cover 2.4 and 5GHz to 7GHz frequency ranges, respectively. They are tailored for a wide 3 to 5V operating range, perfect for mobile gadgets like smartphones, tablets, and VR/AR wearables.
Additionally, the QPF4259 and QPF4559, designed for 2 and 5GHz respectively, are ideal for wireless access points, routers, set-top boxes, and customer premises equipment. These modules optimise power amplifier performance for a 5V supply, balancing power efficiency with high output power and top-tier throughput.
As Wi-Fi 7 devices, these FEMs are compatible with Matter, a new universal connectivity standard for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Matter acts as a universal IoT standard, facilitating communication across various protocols in today’s smart homes through standard IP.
Mouser also offers evaluation boards for these Wi-Fi 7 modules – the QM42500EVB, QM45500EVB, QPF4259EVB01, and QPF4559EVB01. These boards serve as development platforms, each featuring a pre-mounted module and necessary support circuitry. They provide an example application circuit for easy integration into existing designs, expediting the prototyping process.
