Robotics stands as a central theme at HANNOVER MESSE. The event showcases an extensive array of robots, from industrial and collaborative robots (cobots) to autonomous mobile robots, across its exhibition space.
This year, Hall 5’s Application Park is a key attraction, supported by the German Robotics Association (DRV), which is dedicated to advancing robotics usage in Germany. This focus is particularly relevant given Germany’s ranking as fifth globally in robotics, behind China, Japan, Korea, and the USA, and the ongoing skilled worker shortage.
Hubertus von Monschaw, Global Director of HANNOVER MESSE at Deutsche Messe AG, highlights the partnership: “With the expertise of DRV’s robotics specialists, we aim to expand the robotics and automation themes at HANNOVER MESSE. This event is unparalleled worldwide in displaying the vast array of robotic applications.”
For the upcoming year, the DRV will exclusively partner with the Application Park. This space will be a showcase for emerging robotics companies and startups, highlighting the broad range of robot applications and the synergy between humans, machines, and artificial intelligence. Visitors will have the chance to explore automation driven by robotics and even try it out. A notable feature is the driverless transport systems, showcasing the future potential of eliminating human drivers in many sectors.
Helmut Schmid, CEO of the DRV, expresses excitement: “This exhibition platform at HANNOVER MESSE offers a unique opportunity for visitors to interact with cutting-edge technologies and understand how robotics, AI, and automation can address the significant challenges in the industry.”
Ahead of HANNOVER MESSE, the 13th Robotics Congress will be held on 6 and 7 February 2024 at the Technology Academy in Hannover. This event, occurring just over two months before HANNOVER MESSE, will provide insights into the latest advancements and trends in robotics. Participants will engage in plenary sessions and workshops, setting the stage for the hands-on experiences awaiting them at HANNOVER MESSE. The DRV is a key development partner behind the congress program.
HANNOVER MESSE is globally recognised as the premier industry trade fair. With its central theme of ‘Industrial Transformation’, the event congregates companies from mechanical, electrical, digital industries, and the energy sector. They present future-oriented solutions for production methods and energy supply. Key topics include Industry 4.0/Manufacturing-X, Energy for Industry, Digitalisation/AI and Machine Learning, Carbon-neutral Production, and Hydrogen and Fuel Cells. The event, complemented by various conferences and forums, is set to take place in Hannover, Germany, from 22 to 26 April 2024.
