Lacroix Environment recently collaborated with Insight SIP, selecting its ISP1507 BLE module for its advanced street lighting solution, to enable wireless connectivity for street lamppost controller units.
The Insight SIP module is incorporated into Lacroix Environment’s PS-Pak unit, which functions both as a power supply for street lighting and as a sophisticated controller. The unit can be installed at the base of a lamppost and supports the DALI2 protocol, an industry standard for smart lighting.
The Bluetooth connectivity feature allows the PS-Pak to be configured without needing to access the interior of the lighting unit, thus reducing the time and risk associated with routine operations. Available functions include:
- Software updates
- Lighting setup for individual lamps when multiple units are connected (up to 6 per PS-Pak)
- Parameter settings for Lacroix Environment software drivers, as well as for competitor products (the PS-Pak can power and control any Zhaga-compatible lanterns)
Philippe Escaich, Electronic Development Manager for Lacroix Environment Street Lighting BU said: “We chose the Insight SIP module on the basis of its miniature size allowing it to be easily integrated into previous designs, the attractive price, and the quality of support provided by Insight SIP. The 1507-AX offered a balance of features and price that matched our needs.”
Nick Wood, Sales and Marketing Director for Insight SIP added: “We are delighted to support Lacroix Environment in their mission to make modern cities safer and more energy efficient. We believe there will be an increasing need for this kind of application to meet carbon emission targets whilst not compromising on personal safety.”
