The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has successfully achieved recertification for the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard, maintaining its commitment to the highest levels of operational and security practices.
ISO/IEC 27001:2022, commonly referred to as ISO 27001, is a globally recognised benchmark that specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
LINX first underwent this certification process in September 2021, in response to a growing demand from enterprise and financial sector networks, where such accreditations are essential. The decision to upgrade to the 2022 version of the standard reflects LINX’s dedication to sustaining the highest levels of operational and security integrity across its operations.
“We are delighted to achieve recertification for ISO 27001, which underscores our ongoing commitment to information security. This achievement reflects our dedication to not only our engineering excellence but also protecting the interests of our members and stakeholders by upholding the highest standards of data security,” said Richard Petrie, Chief Technology Officer at LINX.
The recertification process involved a thorough audit carried out by the British Standards Institution (BSI), a respected certification authority, to ensure LINX’s adherence to the ISO 27001:2022 standards in all aspects of its operations. This renewal validates LINX’s ability to effectively manage and mitigate information security risks, ensuring its services remain resilient and dependable in an increasingly interconnected world.
An ineffective Information Security Management System can carry significant financial and reputational risks. ISO 27001 plays a vital role in risk management strategies and has become integral to IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) programmes in many organisations.
