Smartoptics announced that IENTC Telecomunicaciones has chosen Smartoptics as its preferred WDM provider. The communication service provider (CSP) is creating one of the highest capacity long-haul networks in Latin America with Smartoptics open line systems, ROADMs and 400G muxponders.
Founded in 2011 and based in Querétaro, IENTC has over 12,000 km of fibre optic routes across Mexico. The CSP has a focus on advanced technology to enable 99.9% uptimes for business users, both data centres and the wholesale segment. IENTC evaluated Smartoptics network elements in its lab to verify ease of use, deployment and interoperability. Following positive test results, two IENTC data centres in Mexico City were initially interconnected with 40x400G capacity over a single fibre pair utilising open line systems and muxponders.
Following the first successful deployment, IENTC acquired dark fibre in the north of Mexico. To start commercialising the new fiber and selling services to customers, Smartoptics ROADMs, open line systems and muxponders were deployed.
“The Smartoptics solutions are as easy to deploy as promised with outstanding cost efficiency and performance. To us Smartoptics is more than a solution provider. We appreciate their continuous drive and commitment to innovation, bringing the latest technological advances into increasingly simple and easy-to-use products. We are confident in choosing Smartoptics as our preferred partner for all our WDM networking needs and look forward to continuing collaboration as we expand in the vast Mexican market together,” says Carlos Arguimbau, Founder and CEO, IENTC Telecomunicaciones.
The Smartoptics network elements provide high capacity and flexibility for the north Mexico network. This will enable IENTC to offer 400G services to its customers along about 600 km from Saltillo to Ciudad Acuña.
“IENTC has demonstrated the enormous potential to disrupt the telecom market in Latin America with revolutionary performance and pricing based on Smartoptics’ 400G technology. Everyone from customers to peers and competitors will be sure to take notice of the impressive north Mexico deployment, which reaches far and wide with high capacity. This project is just the beginning of what IENTC and Smartoptics can accomplish together as two rapidly growing partners that value innovation. We look forward to a continuing fruitful partnership based on these shared values,” says Armando Carmona, Business Development Director LATAM, Smartoptics.
