From 17-19 May 2024, the China (Shanghai) International Metrology Measurement Technology and Equipment Exhibition took place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre. Dongfa Group showcased its latest research achievements at the event.
At the exhibition, Chairman Liu Ming of Dongfa Group conducted the lighting ceremony and announced the official launch of the “Smart Gas Comprehensive Supervision Platform,” demonstrating the efficiency and convenience of smart management for municipal gas meters.
Founded in 1962 and headquartered in Singapore, Dandong Dongfa, formerly known as Dandong Thermal Instrument, specialises in the development and application of instruments and meters. Its product portfolio includes IC card gas meters, wired direct-reading remote diaphragm gas meters, wireless direct-reading remote diaphragm gas meters, NB-IoT IoT meters, and ultrasonic gas meters. These products are known for their high accuracy, reliability, and stability, making Dongfa Group a leading manufacturer of smart gas meters in China.
At the exhibition, Dongfa Group showcased its Smart Gas Comprehensive Supervision Platform, which integrates AI, IoT, cloud computing, and big data. This platform connects the topological structure of all gas operations and consolidates relevant data from production management and operation maintenance. This integration enhances the research and development and operational maintenance capabilities of the big data governance system.
The company is advancing comprehensive management and control with digital twins, AI, and big data. By utilising digital twins, AI models, and 5G technology, the company is constructing a unified citywide network and a digital twin map of the gas pipeline network. This integration enables deep AI monitoring, pressure and leakage detection, smart terminals, and other sensing devices with gas operations, ensuring the safety and supply of urban gas.
Digital twin gas technology not only supports pipeline design but also plays a crucial role in intelligent emergency response and precise distribution. It enables comprehensive real-time monitoring, intelligent operation scheduling, proactive warning, and emergency command plans, particularly in the operation of gas stations. This improves the efficiency and safety of gas management.
However, recent years have seen numerous incidents of data leakage involving smart AI devices. Sensitive data has been collected or sold by malicious actors, leading to the disclosure of confidential information, significant economic losses, and legal risks.
To safeguard enterprise and user data, Dongfa Group employs Digital Envelope technology to encrypt and decrypt data packets during collection and distribution. This approach combines symmetric and asymmetric encryption technologies for secure information transmission, ensuring fast, efficient, and secure encryption and decryption for the smart gas digital business sector, maintaining data security and integrity during transmission.
