The annual 5G Techritory forum will take place on 30-31 October, marking the final edition in its current format. Now in its seventh year, the forum will gather leading figures from telecommunications across policy, industry, academia, and business.
The event will feature over 90 speakers and host more than 500 in-person attendees in Riga, Latvia, with an additional 1,500 participants joining online. This edition reflects a move away from the post-Covid online or hybrid model, placing a renewed emphasis on in-person engagement. As in previous years, attendance is free but requires prior registration.
The theme for this year, “Technology Shaping Tomorrow’s Territory,” will focus on delivering tangible results and real value from the discussions. A key aspect of the programme is the series of co-creation events, which will encourage collaboration among industry leaders through workshops and ideation sessions. Over 10 such events are planned, including:
- Horizon Europe Digital Technologies brokerage event: a session for information sharing, pitching, and matchmaking, designed to connect researchers with entrepreneurs for potential collaborations
- The Quantum Technology Landscape: an exploration of national quantum initiatives, regional cooperation, and how local networks can accelerate quantum technology development
- GNSS Security & Resilience: a session on the effects of jamming and spoofing on both military and civilian assets, mitigation strategies, and the role of GNSS simulation in securing military applications, such as hypersonic weapons.
- From 5G to 6G: discussions on leveraging trends from 5G to shape the future of 6G, including the first use cases and developments in vertical sectors
The forum will also feature an immersive XR experience, evening networking opportunities, and a wide range of panels and discussions. These will cover key current topics such as AI, dual-use technologies, quantum advancements, digital twins, and the transition from 5G to 6G.
“This will be the 7th year of 5G Techritory, and we believe that we have achieved what we have set out to do – to bring together the brightest minds of the industry and create a more interconnected world through the 5th generation of mobile technologies. The world has changed, and 5G is no longer an unknown frontier. We’re thrilled with what has been accomplished, and look with excitement towards the future,” said Neils Kalniņš, Director of 5G Techritory.
