SECO is set to participate in embedded world North America event in Austin, Texas, from 8-10 October 2024. This event will provide visitors with a valuable opportunity to explore SECO’s solutions tailored for the North American market, backed by its US-based engineering and operational teams.
SECO will present its range of embedded hardware products alongside Clea, its IoT software suite. Attendees will also experience demonstrations of SECO’s edge AI capabilities, showcasing its collaborations with technology partners such as Qualcomm and Axelera AI.
SECO offers a wide selection of embedded computing and robust smart display electronics. Its Modular Vision series of human-machine interface (HMI) panel PCs, powered by both Arm and x86 processors, include touchscreens, wired and wireless networking, and industrial peripheral interfaces. These panel PCs are available in standard screen sizes of 7”, 10.1”, and 15.6”, with up to 4K resolution.
Based on processors from Qualcomm, NXP, Intel, and MediaTek, SECO provides a variety of off-the-shelf computing modules, from single board computers (SBCs) to standard form factor modules (CoMs/SoMs).
SECO also offers fully integrated industrial PCs, designed for high reliability, flexibility, and security. These certified boxed solutions come with a wide range of performance features.
SECO will introduce two new development kits for SMARC CoMs, focusing on its Qualcomm processor module, the SOM-SMARC-QCS6490. The SMARC Qualcomm Starter Kit, featuring an industrial 3.5” form-factor carrier board, offers multiple interfaces and supports mPCIe and M.2 plug-in modules. It is designed to facilitate quick proof-of-concept and accelerate product development. The second kit is aimed at early prototyping and software development, with a larger carrier board providing additional functionality for experimentation and fine-tuning product designs.
Clea: SECO’s IoT software suite
All SECO hardware integrates seamlessly with Clea, SECO’s open-source software suite for IoT infrastructure. Compatible with any Cloud provider or on-premises infrastructure, Clea enables users to manage operational data, remotely control infrastructure, and develop AI applications.
A new feature, Clea OS, further enhances the software suite by streamlining the deployment of edge IoT devices. This industrial-grade embedded Linux operating system, based on the Yocto Project, integrates easily with the cloud, enabling engineers to accelerate product development with straightforward system configuration. Clea OS is compatible with both SECO and third-party hardware.
Edge AI demonstrations
Visitors will also witness two demonstrations of SECO’s edge AI capabilities. The first will highlight edge AI-driven security and situational management using the Palladio 500 RPL embedded computer, powered by a 13th Gen Intel Core processor and integrated with an Axelera Metis AIPU. This system performs real-time video analysis and AI-powered feature extraction from multiple live camera feeds.
The second demonstration will focus on running Large Language Model (LLM) AI at the edge, developed by SECO’s data scientists and AI specialists. This cutting-edge technology enables edge LLMs to operate autonomously, without cloud support, reducing latency, and enhancing data security by processing information locally.
