Wialon, the global fleet management and IoT platform developed by European software company Gurtam, has announced that it has surpassed the milestone of 4 million vehicles connected to its platform across 160 countries. This achievement positions Wialon as one of the world’s largest fleet management, GPS tracking, and IoT software platforms by the number of connected vehicles.
The Wialon platform facilitates the connection, tracking, and monitoring of a diverse range of vehicles and assets, including HGVs, LCVs, public buses, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, energy generators, fuel tanks, and waste management vehicles. Its software is utilised across a variety of industries, from logistics and transportation to agriculture, construction, energy, and waste management.
“Fleet management solutions are of the utmost importance to businesses, as they are the backbone of operational success. Year on year we are seeing increased adoption of telematics, and a higher emphasis on safety and data analytics, supporting efficiency and sustainability in fleet operations,” said Aliaksandr Kuushynau, Head of Wialon.
GotYou Telematics, the company responsible for connecting the landmark 4 millionth vehicle, has been a Wialon partner since 2017. Based in South Africa, GotYou Telematics provides and integrates security services for fleet management, assisting clients across various industries in managing and safeguarding their transport and assets.
“We were excited to begin our partnership with Wialon in 2017, and since then, we’ve never looked back. The sky’s the limit if you know how to use the platform’s wide functionality to drive your clients’ success,” added Aldo Gerber, Founder and CEO of GotYou Telematics. “Today, we are delighted to be part of the international Wialon family and to have connected the 4 millionth vehicle to the platform. It’s an amazing feeling to contribute to such an impressive achievement, marking Wialon’s global leadership in fleet management software.”
Wialon provides fleet management solutions through a network of over 2,700 channel partners in more than 160 countries. The majority of Wialon’s partners are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and Wialon aims to empower them with advanced technology, enabling them to compete effectively in their local markets. By leveraging Wialon’s technology and a wide array of integration options—compatible with over 3,500 device models for data capture and GPS tracking—these companies can launch, manage, and expand their businesses without the need for extensive development investments, thus saving considerable time and resources.
This approach allows smaller fleet operators to access advanced technology typically available only to larger companies, levelling the playing field and enhancing their operational capabilities. Over the more than two decades since its founding in 2001, Wialon has developed a suite of fleet management software that prioritises flexibility and versatility. It is vehicle-agnostic, sensor and device-agnostic, and easily scalable for both small and large fleets, all of which can track their operations within a unified platform. The Wialon software suite is employed by fleets ranging from fewer than 50 vehicles to those with over 1,000 connected vehicles.
Reflecting on the company’s growth, Aliaksandr Kuushynau said: “We still remember the excitement of reaching our first 400,000 vehicles back in 2015. It took us nine years to add three more zeros to this number. Starting small and dreaming big, who could have imagined how far we would come? As we move to our next milestones, we are committed to enhancing our services to help the Wialon partner community grow and thrive. We know this will be an exciting journey.”
