Queclink has unveiled its latest innovation, the GV850 telematics gateway. This advanced 4G, Linux-based device is engineered to address the intricate requirements of modern fleet management and various industrial applications, offering unparalleled customisation and Edge intelligence.
Marking Queclink’s first high-end programmable product, the GV850 utilises the open-source versatility of Linux, allowing for extensive customisation through a variety of programming languages, backed by a strong global developer community. This flexibility not only streamlines the development process but also ensures seamless integration with the existing systems used by fleet operators and business owners.
A key feature of the GV850 is its emphasis on customisation, giving clients the ability to independently manage the device’s programming. It also enables specific data collection tasks that are beyond the capabilities of most standard devices. For instance, fleet operators can configure vast numbers of geo-fences tailored to their routes, while motorsport professionals can set up data reporting at a frequency of up to 60 times per second, allowing for detailed performance analysis.
Purpose-built for fleet management, the GV850 is equipped with a CANbus library supporting various vehicle types, including heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), light goods vehicles (LGVs), passenger cars, and heavy machinery. It features two high/low-speed CANbus ports and an additional K-Line port, facilitating remote tachograph file downloads and real-time driving status data reception.
In tandem with the GV850, Queclink has also introduced the GV851, a versatile device that goes beyond traditional telematics. The GV851 can integrate proprietary CAN libraries or protocols, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from industrial automation to smart city initiatives. It provides the precise control and functionality needed for diverse scenarios, offering customisation for virtually any requirement.
Both the GV850 and GV851 are equipped with ST microprocessors and ample memory capacity, highlighting the trend towards more autonomous device operations. These features enable Edge computing, where data is processed locally on the device rather than being transmitted to the cloud. This approach accelerates decision-making, reduces bandwidth consumption, lowers operational costs, and enhances data privacy.
