Globalstar has unveiled a new addition to its expanding portfolio of industrial IoT asset tracking solutions. In collaboration with Global Satellite Engineering, the company has introduced GSatSolar, a compact, rugged, and cost-effective tracking device aimed at enhancing the efficiency of tracking software tools for Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and customers.
Powered by satellite technology, GSatSolar enables tracking of a greater number of assets in near-real time. This advancement is poised to deliver more dependable and actionable data in the field, leading to improved operational efficiency and enabling true remote IoT autonomous data collection.
Jake Rembert, VP of Sales at Globalstar, expressed his excitement about the new offering, stating: “GSatSolar is a cost-effective solution for remotely monitoring assets on the Globalstar LEO network and provides a wealth of verified IoT data for various IoT applications.” Rembert underscored the versatility of GSatSolar, expanding the company’s satellite tracking capabilities while retaining features such as low power consumption, extended lifespan, and high performance.
GSatSolar’s compact size offers flexible mounting options suitable for diverse enterprise industrial applications and promises durability and resistance to extreme temperatures. Equipped with a solar panel and internal battery, the device can transmit data for extended periods in environments with regular sun exposure.
Key data collection capabilities of GSatSolar encompass location tracking, accelerometer functionality, and Bluetooth sensor options.Users have the flexibility to transmit data either to Globalstar’s SPOT My Globalstar platform, which offers features like live and historical tracking, alerts, geofences, and shared views, or directly to a VAR’s back office or customer endpoint.
