Cassia Networks has announced the release of its new M2000 Compact Cellular Bluetooth Gateway. This device, designed for ease of use, offers high performance, flexibility, and cost efficiency, tailored to meet the evolving demands of customers.
The M2000 is a compact Cellular Bluetooth gateway featuring an integrated 4G cellular module, delivering enhanced Bluetooth functionality. With support for both 4G and Wi-Fi as backhaul options, the M2000 provides enterprise-level security, scalability, and flexibility, enabling cost-effective deployment of IoT projects.
The M2000, along with Cassia’s full range of Bluetooth gateways, can be managed using the IoT Access Controller (AC), recognised as the industry’s most advanced enterprise Bluetooth network management solution. Like Cassia’s other Bluetooth gateways, the M2000 supports Bluetooth roaming and location tracking.
In addition to the E1000 and X2000 gateways, the M2000’s distinctive design includes support for 4G backhaul, GPS, and a DC 9-36V power supply, making it particularly suited for applications requiring mobility, rapid deployment, and use in moving vehicles.
Despite its compact size, the M2000 offers a range of powerful features:
- A communication range of up to 150 metres with Bluetooth 4.x devices in open spaces, extended further with Bluetooth 5.0 devices
- Support for up to 10 simultaneous bi-directional connections with Bluetooth low energy devices
- The ability to scan hundreds of Bluetooth devices, featuring Cassia’s PureScan Mode for optimal scanning performance in high-interference environments
- Embedded 4G Cellular (CAT-M / NB-IoT) backhaul support
- Wi-Fi backhaul and hotspot capabilities
- Integrated GPS functionality
- Compliance with certifications including FCC (USA), IC (Canada), CE (EU), TELEC (Japan), JATE (Japan), RoHS (EU), REACH (EU), CB, and BQB
The M2000 is adaptable to a wide range of industries and applications, including continuous vital sign monitoring in healthcare, telehealth, industrial IoT, smart buildings, smart campuses, supply chain management, and personnel or asset tracking in buildings and vehicles.
“The M2000 gateway seamlessly integrates the advantages of Bluetooth connectivity with cellular backhaul, all in a compact and user-friendly design that is cost-effective,” said Felix Zhao, CEO of Cassia Networks. “We’re thrilled to introduce the M2000 to our customers, empowering them to achieve the scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency required for their IoT projects to thrive in digital health, asset tracking, industrial IoT, smart building, and many other applications.”
