Engineers designing connected devices can now use an AI-assisted platform on NXP’s website to move from application requirements to proposed hardware architectures and schematics.
CELUS has launched a co-branded version of its Design Platform on NXP.com, allowing engineers to describe what they want to build to its AI Design Assistant and receive system-level design options based on NXP components and technologies.
The approach moves the use of AI beyond component search, where engineers typically work through datasheets and product portfolios to identify individual parts. CELUS said its platform can help structure requirements and constraints, compare system options and assemble complete hardware concepts before a physical design is produced.
For IoT devices, this can involve combining processing, connectivity, sensors, power management and other functions within a constrained hardware architecture. CELUS said its platform uses design knowledge and implementation logic to guide component selection and schematic development, with the aim of reducing configuration errors and shortening development time.
Designs can then be transferred into engineering tools including Altium Designer, KiCad, Siemens EDA and Autodesk Fusion.
The partnership also changes how NXP presents its portfolio to engineers. Rather than relying on conventional component searches, NXP technologies are incorporated into a design workflow that starts with the intended application and works towards a complete system.

Luca Difalco, SVP of Global Channel Sales and Industrial Solutions at NXP Semiconductors, said the integration would allow NXP to embed its technologies earlier in the design process and increase portfolio adoption.
CELUS said more than 30,000 engineers across more than 100 countries use its platform, which has a library of more than 560,000 components.
