Teleport announced that Paul Gaffney has joined its Board of Directors. As a technology and operations veteran with expertise in digital transformation, security, and Cloud infrastructure, Gaffney will be responsible for guiding Teleport’s strategic growth as the company looks to continue to redefine how enterprises manage and govern identity, access, and policy across their data centres and Cloud operations.
Gaffney has spent decades driving innovation in large-scale technology organisations including having served as Chief Technology and Supply Chain Officer at Kohl’s, and having held senior leadership roles at Omni Logistics, DICK’s Sporting Goods, The Home Depot, AAA,and more.
“We are at a turning point in how organisations manage identity and access for modern infrastructure,” commented Gaffney. “The old way of handling credentials, secrets, and access policies simply doesn’t work in today’s Cloud-native world, given the scale and complexity of infrastructure environments. Teleport’s approach—where unified infrastructure identity for both humans and machines is the foundation of security—solves one of the most pressing engineering security challenges. I’m excited to join the board and help shape the future of infrastructure identity.”
As modern infrastructure governing critical businesses operations scales in complexity, traditional perimeter- and credentials-based security models introduce an exponentially increasing risk of human error and compromise. With its work on infrastructure identity, Teleport is leading the way for organisations to enforce zero trust, least privileged access for humans and machines without passwords, VPNs, or anonymous accounts.
“Paul’s leadership in large-scale technology operations and his deep experience in digital transformation make him an invaluable addition to our board,” said Ev Kontsevoy, CEO and Co-Founder of Teleport. “As we continue to grow and help enterprises modernise their security architecture, Paul’s insights will help accelerate our mission to make infrastructure identity the new security standard.”
