Forefront RF, a fabless semiconductor company based in Cambridge, UK, have announced the opening of its new subsidiary office in Helvoirt, near Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
This expansion marks a significant step in Forefront RF’s evolution from an early-stage startup to a major player in RF technology, supporting its ambitious growth plans following the successful closer of a Series A funding round in Q4 2024.
The Netherlands is an important seedbed for microelectronics, with Dutch semiconductor companies currently accounting for around 9% of the global market share. With transport hubs including the ports of Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Schipol Airport, the country facilitates the movement of high-value goods across Europe and worldwide.
Its international outlook and multicultural environment makes it a suitable location for Forefront RF to expand its footprint in the European market and foster stronger partnerships with stakeholders in the semiconductor industry.
“This expansion cements our commitment to driving innovation, including unlocking software defined radio architectures that redefine the capabilities of mobile communication radio front ends, delivering advanced solutions to our customers. The Netherlands offers an exceptional business environment, bolstered by multilateral agreements and access to world-class talent,” said Ronald Wilting, CEO of Forefront RF.
The new office will allow the company to accelerate product rollouts, enhance customer support, and leverage Europe’s semiconductor talent pool, keeping the company set on its course to launch its first-generation product, the FFM51010, targeted at the cellular-enabled smartwatch market in 2026.
