ByteSnap Design has announced a strategic partnership with Particle, a prominent provider of Edge-to-Cloud infrastructure for IoT. Particle’s technology supports a wide range of companies in powering advanced connected devices, sensors, and machines. This collaboration represents a key advancement in delivering scalable and efficient IoT solutions, which will be demonstrated at the Engineering Design Show (EDS).
The partnership will leverage ByteSnap Design’s extensive expertise in embedded systems and Particle’s comprehensive IoT infrastructure to offer enhanced connectivity solutions across industries such as automotive, healthcare, and smart cities. Together, they aim to streamline IoT development by combining embeddable modules with off-the-shelf gateways, all integrated into the Particle IoT Platform-as-a-Service. This approach facilitates the faster deployment of smart, connected products, driving improvements in efficiency, sustainability, and user experience.
At this year’s EDS, running from 9–10 October 2024, ByteSnap will feature a demonstration that merges millimetre wave (mmWave) technology with Particle’s IoT platform, showcasing advanced remote sensor management. Central to this demonstration is a “spinning head” mechanism, which is optimised to track movement across a wide field of view in real time. This highlights its ability to monitor occupancy and track individuals without interruption.
Using Particle’s Photon 2 Wi-Fi development board and IoT platform, the demo streams sensor data to the Cloud for instant analysis, remote management, and diagnostics. By utilising mmWave technology, it discreetly tracks people without the use of cameras, ensuring privacy as no personal data is stored—a forward-thinking, non-invasive solution.
The partnership will also launch a series of joint development projects, including an IoT module designed to provide enterprise-level security and facilitate easy integration across various devices and platforms.
ByteSnap Design has developed IoT solutions for various sectors, including electric vehicle charging software, smart home systems, environmental monitoring tools, healthcare devices, and agricultural technologies. While the major brands they have collaborated with are not publicly disclosed, their diverse portfolio showcases their capabilities.
“By combining our deep knowledge of embedded systems with Particle’s cutting-edge IoT technology, we are poised to offer our clients unparalleled integrated solutions,” said Graeme Wintle, Director at ByteSnap Design. “This partnership underscores our commitment to remaining at the forefront of the development of connected devices that meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
