Workz, a specialist in cloud-based eSIM technology, has introduced its latest remote device management solution tailored for the Internet of Things (IoT) sector. This platform removes the constraints typically associated with conventional technologies, which impose limits on network availability and entail prolonged and costly deployments.
The new solution, built on the GSMA’s forthcoming eSIM standard for IoT, SGP.32, offers clients numerous advantages over traditional M2M technologies such as multi-IMSI and M2M eSIM. It extends market accessibility by enabling the management of previously unmanageable devices, including those with limited power or lacking a user interface.
Furthermore, the solution is engineered to enhance update success rates by facilitating communication with inactive devices, such as those powered off or outside network coverage. Workz also provides intelligent automation features aimed at eliminating the need for manual resources typically required to manage large device volumes.
This launch aligns with the expected surge in the eSIM IoT market, forecasted by Juniper Research to grow by almost 700% in connections by 2028. Telecommunication companies are actively preparing for this surge, with the GSMA reporting that 60% are enhancing their staff skills, and over half are augmenting resources.
In 2021, Workz launched a cloud-based eSIM management service. Currently serving over 100 telcos globally, Counterpoint Research recognised the platform last year as a significant innovation for the industry.
“This is to IoT what the mobile phone was to the landline. It enables businesses to have complete freedom to manage their devices at a fraction of the cost. Ultimately, this will unlock possibilities for providers and businesses of all size,” commented Edwin Haver, CIO of Workz.
