IoT Insider can confirm the speakers for its upcoming webinar examining how Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite networks are reshaping the Internet of Things (IoT), as the sector moves closer to large-scale commercial deployment.

Romain Durand, R&D Director and Co-founder at Transatel, who oversees R&D and innovation programmes at the global cellular IoT connectivity provider, will explore how cellular IoT and multi-network architectures are evolving to support seamless integration between terrestrial and non-terrestrial connectivity, and what this means for the future of always-on global IoT services.
Don Osborne, Chief Executive Officer of EarthDaily, a veteran space and technology executive with more than three decades’ experience across satellite systems, geospatial intelligence, aerospace engineering, and mission-critical technologies, will provide a strategic perspective on how Earth observation, satellite infrastructure, and data analytics are converging to enable new commercial applications for LEO-enabled IoT.
As investment in LEO constellations accelerates, satellite-based IoT is increasingly being positioned as a way to extend connectivity into remote, maritime, and infrastructure-heavy environments, with major deployments including SpaceX’s Starlink, Amazon LEO and Blue Origin’s TeraWave.
However, questions remain around device interoperability, hybrid network design, cost structures, and regulatory complexity.
The webinar will explore how LEO networks are being deployed in practice, how they compare with terrestrial alternatives such as LPWAN and 5G, and what technical and commercial barriers still need to be addressed before wider adoption.
