The 2024 Industry Solutions Awards, organised by the IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), recognised the most outstanding advancements in industry transformation. The winners were Loctite, Barbara, MClimate, Topazium, Cafler, and Infrafon. The Game Changer award was presented to Alicia Asín, Co-Founder of Libelium and an expert in IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data.
This event, one of the largest international gathering focused on industry transformation through disruptive technologies, will continue until 23 May in Barcelona. The winners were announced during a gala held this afternoon at the Gran Via venue.
In the Smart Manufacturing Industry 4.0 category, Loctite was honoured for its Loctite Pulse smart solution, which significantly enhances the reliability of a plant’s maintenance, repair, and operation through a combination of sensors and an app that continuously monitors critical equipment. Madrid-based company Barbara won the award for the best Energy & Utilities solution for its adaptive AI application in edge nodes at ACCIONA’s 89 desalination plants worldwide, ensuring quality and reducing costs in chemical supplies.
The best Connected Transport & Smart Vehicles solution award was given to Cafler for its all-in-one platform catering to vehicle users’ needs, including insurance, parking, maintenance, and refuelling. In the Healthcare category, Topazium won with its SkinGuard solution, a mobile phone application for the early detection of malignant skin lesions.
The final two awards, Best Smart Buildings & Smart Cities solution and Best Cybersecurity solution, went to MClimate and Infrafon, respectively. Bulgarian company MClimate developed the first LoRaWAN Smart Radiator Thermostat, which improves energy efficiency, reduces CO2 footprint, and cuts costs in various buildings. Infrafon received the best Cybersecurity solution award for its Smart Badge, an e-paper smart badge providing Multi-Factor Authentication through a biometric fingerprint reader and PIN entry, offering high levels of security.
The Game Changer award recognises an industry pioneer who has been a key role model and promoter of technological solutions in vertical industries. In 2024, this award was given to Alicia Asín, an expert in Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and Big Data, and Co-Founder and CEO of Libelium, a company specialising in smart IoT solutions in sustainability, smart cities and infrastructure, and agrifood sectors.
In 2024, IOTSWC is hosting over 300 companies and 250 speakers to showcase and discuss the latest technological solutions that provide a competitive edge across various industries.
