E.E.P.D. will showcase its latest single board computers (SBCs) and systems at embedded world North America 2024, in collaboration with Pyramid North America. Visitors to the company booth will see a range of mini ITX (AMD and Intel-based) and NUC boards in various performance categories, as well as BoxPCs. The highlight will be the latest SBC models, the NUCN and NUCU.
The PROFIVE NUCU SBCs deliver advanced AI capabilities in a compact form. Designed and manufactured in Germany, these boards feature AMD Ryzen Embedded 8000 series processors and are built for high-performance applications. Utilising the “Zen 4” x86 core architecture and cutting-edge 4 nm process technology, they offer a blend of superior performance and energy efficiency.
With their RDNA3 Radeon graphics architecture and the integrated XDNA Neural Processing Unit, offering up to 16 TOPS of AI processing power, the NUCU series is ideally suited for applications requiring robust CPU and GPU performance alongside enhanced security features such as ECC and hardware TPM. These applications range from 3D rendering, augmented and virtual reality, and AI-driven systems, to machine learning, IoT Edge solutions, industrial automation, and computer vision.
The NUCN is powered by the latest Intel Atom E-series and Intel N-series processors. This robust industrial SBC, compliant with the embedded NUC standard, measures approximately 4″ x 4″. Its components, including memory and SSD, are soldered directly onto the board, making it ideal for scenarios demanding high CPU performance with passive cooling, extended temperature ranges, and high mechanical resilience, alongside security features like hardware TPM.
Key features include up to 16 GB of soldered DDR5 RAM with in-band ECC (depending on the model), a soldered eMMC SSD (up to 128 GB), and up to 3x 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet ports. The NUCN also supports NVMe 2280 and comes equipped with various security enhancements. Notably, the NUCN can operate within an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and offers long-term availability of up to 15 years, depending on the CPU model. Additionally, it provides three Intel I226 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet ports with IEEE1588, TSN support, and Wake-On-LAN. The board also supports wireless modules for 4G/LTE/5G and Wi-Fi 6.
E.E.P.D. will also unveil the EM PRO midi Cube, alongside two fanless BoxPCs from the BSNP and BSIP (IP67) product families, at embedded world North America 2024.
The EM PRO midi Cube is a compact and robust BoxPC, designed around the embedded NUCU board and optimised for enterprise IT needs. Powered by AMD Ryzen Embedded 8845HS, 8645HS, 8840U, and 8640U processors and the RDNA3 Radeon graphics architecture with an integrated XDNA Neural Processing Unit, it is built for 24/7 operation. This makes it well-suited for a variety of applications including retail POS systems, healthcare environments such as surgery rooms, IoT edge nodes, thin clients, network monitoring servers, and building automation systems.
The BSNP and BSIP series are industrial BoxPCs, with the BSIP offering IP67-rated waterproofing. These systems feature passive cooling and compact designs, based on E.E.P.D.’s embedded NUC PROFIVE SBCs, providing scalability across performance levels and costs. Their durable construction and high-quality components make them ideal for 24/7 operation in demanding environments, with low maintenance needs.
