Jim Misener is Senior Director of Product Management and Global V2X Ecosystem Lead for Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Jim develops and executes deployment and strategies for Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) and works closely with C-V2X industry, government and other ecosystem players to accelerate commercialization. He also leads efforts to adapt ITS standards and application protocols, address compliance and certification and formulate trade association strategy. Previously, Jim led the company’s automotive standards and transportation teams. He currently serves as board member for the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA) and ITS California and is the SAE C-V2X Technical Committee Chair and an Advisory Council member to the Carnegie Melon University-led University Transportation Center, Mobility 21. Jim is also active in the Transportation Research Board and the Transportation Systems Advisory Committee. Jim was deemed a pioneer in vehicle-highway automation and vehicle safety communication at the California Partners for Advanced Transit and Highways (PATH) at UC Berkeley. He has served as the PATH Executive Director, Executive Advisor to Booz Allen Hamilton, and an independent consultant with clients ranging from Silicon Valley startups, the automotive industry and Federal and State government agencies. Jim holds BS and MS degrees from UCLA and USC.
