Specialist engineering recruitment firm 5V Tech has struck a partnership with Yasser Alsaied, the former Vice President of IoT at Amazon Web Services, as it expands its deep-technology talent operations across the Middle East and North Africa.
The UK-based company said the collaboration, which also includes SAS Arabia, would strengthen its ability to support organisations in the region that are scaling advanced engineering teams in areas including IoT, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and next-generation digital infrastructure.
5V Tech operates internationally from offices in Tampa, Bristol, Amsterdam, and Munich. The company works across the full technology development lifecycle, from chip design through to Cloud architectures, serving clients in sectors such as IoT, Edge AI, Automotive, and Deep Tech.
Yasser Alsaied brings more than three decades of experience spanning defence technologies, semiconductors, telecommunications, and Cloud platforms. During his tenure as Vice President of IoT at AWS, he played a central role in shaping the company’s global IoT strategy and worked closely with governments and enterprises across the MENA region on connected-device platforms, Edge intelligence, and sovereign Cloud initiatives.
Prior to AWS, Alsaied spent 14 years at Qualcomm, where he served as Vice President of IoT and helped scale chipset ecosystems that underpinned the growth of smartphones and modern connected devices. He is now President and Co-Founder of Facilis.ai and a Senior Executive Partner at SAS Arabia, advising organisations on AI adoption, digital sovereignty, and cross-border technology partnerships.
Under the partnership, 5V Tech, Alsaied, and SAS Arabia will collaborate to support organisations building advanced engineering and AI capabilities, develop long-term talent pipelines across embedded systems, Cloud, and semiconductors, align technical talent programmes with national digital-transformation objectives, and strengthen emerging innovation ecosystems across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and other regional markets.
Tom White, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of 5Values Group, said the region represented a significant growth opportunity. “The MENA region is one of the most dynamic areas of technological development globally,” he said. “Working with Yasser and SAS Arabia gives us the experience and regional insight needed to support organisations delivering ambitious deep-tech programmes.”
Alsaied said demand for specialised engineering talent across the region was accelerating. “There is strong momentum across MENA, and the need to build sustainable, long-term technical capability is increasing,” he said. “5V Tech’s focus on deep-technology talent makes them a compelling partner for organisations looking to scale.”
5V Tech is part of the 5Values Group and provides contract, permanent, executive search, statement-of-work, and fully managed recruitment services for complex engineering teams worldwide, working with organisations developing technologies ranging from connected mobility to intelligent infrastructure and climate-focused solutions.
