Keysight Technologies has completed the purchase of the Optical Solutions Group from Synopsys and the PowerArtist business from Ansys, as the California-based test and measurement company broadens its design engineering software offerings.
The acquisitions enhance Keysight’s computer-aided engineering capabilities, providing tools for optical system design and early-stage semiconductor power analysis.
The Optical Solutions Group, known for software such as CODE V, LightTools, LucidShape, ImSym, and RSoft, brings predictive and simulation-based optical design tools for imaging systems, automotive lighting, and photonics devices.
PowerArtist offers a register-transfer-level (RTL) platform for pre-synthesis power analysis, widely used across semiconductor applications to reduce energy consumption in early design stages.
Niels Faché, Senior Vice President of Keysight’s Design Engineering Software, said the acquisitions would strengthen the company’s “high-performance, multi-physics design capabilities” and support faster, more accurate system-level design decisions across RF, analogue, digital, photonics, and optical applications.
The moves follow Keysight’s strategy of expanding its software portfolio to complement its existing test and measurement business, positioning the company as a multi-domain design partner for customers in communications, industrial automation, aerospace and defence, automotive, and semiconductor sectors.
