Mobile technology company SOTI has announced a series of upgrades to its enterprise mobility management software, as retailers face mounting pressure to protect customer data and improve operational efficiency.
Unveiled at SOTI SYNC 25, the Canadian group’s annual partner and user conference, the new features are designed to tighten device security, reduce downtime, and give retailers greater visibility into how mobile hardware is being used across their operations.
The launch comes as retailers contend with increasingly complex challenges around customer data and service delivery.
According to SOTI’s latest industry report, 78% of UK consumers expect online retailers to prioritise data protection, with 72% applying the same standard to in-store transactions. Several recent high-profile breaches have underscored the sector’s vulnerability. At the same time, 83% of online shoppers said speed of delivery was a decisive factor in their purchasing decisions.
Stefan Spendrup, Vice-President for Northern and Western Europe at SOTI, said: “Security and data protection are top priorities for most businesses today. In retail, where operations move quickly and many employees share devices, having the right technology is essential.”
Spendrup said the goal of the new features was to “strengthen retail in two critical areas: improved security and reduced downtime”, enabling retailers to focus more on sales and customer service.
SOTI, which works with more than 17,000 customers globally, positions its platform as a way for enterprises to secure, manage, and monitor mobile devices across retail and other industries.
