Kerlink, a provider of IoT olutions, and Europorte, France’s private rail freight operator and a subsidiary of the Getlink Group, have unveiled Track Value — an innovative solution for the digitalisation of the freight and logistics sector — at InnoTrans 2024.
“Track Value is the first operational solution that covers the majority of needs within the freight and logistics industry. It is based on proven technologies and expertise that meet the needs of the market. The added value of the solution is further enhanced by its partnership with Kinéis, which provides real-time global coverage,” said Raphael Doutrebente, Chairman of Europorte.
Track Value provides a robust technological solution to the key challenges faced by logistics and freight operators, including:
- Real-time wagon tracking
- Predictive maintenance of wheel locks
- Detection of temperature fluctuations
- Monitoring of container security
A result of a forward-thinking collaboration between Europorte and Kerlink, Track Value introduces unprecedented traceability and monitoring capabilities across all freight modes: road, rail, air, and sea.
Real-time global coverage
Track Value is the first industrial solution dedicated to the freight and logistics sector to utilise data transmission via Kinéis’ space connectivity. Kinéis, a satellite operator and global IoT connectivity provider, ensures real-time global coverage for the system, which is already in use by key industrial players.
The solution depends on the Kinéis low-earth orbit satellite network, ensuring continuous global coverage. Developed with a low-carbon footprint in mind, Track Value sends only relevant data, ensuring both efficiency and reliability.
“By using the technological innovations of the latest generation of IoT systems based on terrestrial and satellite connectivity, Track Value enables the digitisation of freight with optimum quality of service and the smallest possible digital and energy footprint,” said Yannick Delibie, Technical Director, Kerlink.
