AT&T is launching AT&T Connected Spaces, its IoT sensor kit designed to support small and medium-sized businesses with monitoring and managing their operations more efficiently.
The plug-and-play solution offers an affordable and scalable way for these businesses to gain insights about their space to optimise resources, improve operations and customer satisfaction – all without disrupting their daily operations.
Businesses of all types are looking for methods of driving efficiency, improve the customer experience and increase revenue. These challenges require business owners to make tough calls regarding staffing and process changes.
AT&T is supporting small and mid-sized businesses with making informed decisions and remaining competitive with the integration of IoT sensors. IoT sensors provide advantages such as monitoring various metrics such as temperature, humidity, motion, and energy usage, creating near real-time data to optimise processes. Using this data, businesses can respond to potential issues, reduce downtime and improve resource management.
Key features:
- Easy integration: Designed for plug-and-play installation, the sensors are pre-staged and pre-integrated in the dashboard
- Near real-time monitoring: The kit includes sensors for temperature, humidity, motion and more, enabling businesses to monitor their environments comprehensively
- Customisable alerts: Owners can receive alerts and insights when key thresholds are exceeded, such as temperature changes, equipment malfunctions or stock depletion
- Scalability: Connected Spaces is expandable to suit business needs, with the option to add more sensors as needed
The IoT kit includes sensors, a gateway and a user-friendly Cloud platform that can be self-installed with minimal technical expertise. The smart sensors are pre-integrated and pre-staged in the online dashboards and monitors key metrics with insights across the business – tracking everything from temperature to security.
Additionally, the gateway collects data from the sensors and sends it to a secure cloud-based platform. The dashboard displays near real-time and historical data from spaces and assets, sends alerts and offers insights to help optimise performance based on the businesses’ preferences.
Common use cases for this include guest satisfaction awareness, security, cold storage/equipment monitoring, downtime alerts, leak detection, entry detection and call button alerts.
“For small and mid-sized businesses, IoT isn’t just about keeping up with technology – it’s about staying ahead in an increasingly digital economy,” commented Mike Van Horn, Associate Vice President, AT&T Connected Solutions. “Our new IoT kit takes the guesswork, time and confusion out of IoT setup and management, allowing owners to revolutionise the way they operate, serve customers and grow.”
