SECO S.p.A. announce its collaboration with NXP Semiconductors to integrate SECO’s Clea software solution into industrial and IoT applications.
Clea represents a comprehensive AI as a Service (AIaaS) Platform, and its optimisation on NXP hardware is designed to streamline the deployment of AI models for device manufacturers within the industrial and IoT sectors.
As an NXP Gold Partner with active participation in various early-access programmes, SECO has showcased its expertise in leveraging NXP’s advanced hardware technologies. This partnership, which extends over 15 years, marks a pivotal moment in highlighting the value of SECO’s software solutions within industrial and IoT settings.
The aim of the SECO and NXP collaboration is to reduce complexity for customers by providing a complete development environment for AI-enabled devices across industrial and IoT applications, covering numerous technical initiatives. Clea will inherently support NXP’s MCX portfolio on Zephyr, an open-source, real-time operating system, offering NXP’s clientele a pre-configured stack for deploying industrial and IoT applications. Moreover, users of the i.MX portfolio will benefit from Clea’s native integration on NXP’s Yocto/Debian releases. SECO and NXP are set to introduce a range of reference implementations, documentation, and sample code, enabling users to swiftly commence projects with Clea on NXP hardware.
Additionally, through NXP’s eIQ machine learning software development environment, Clea users will gradually have access to an assortment of pre-constructed applications. This will not only expedite the utilisation of Clea’s IoT, field data, and device management features but also the activation of sophisticated AI functionalities, thus enhancing the ability of NXP users to efficiently manage and deploy their Edge machine learning models on a large scale.
“Making it easier for our customers to bring complex products to market is at the core of what NXP does. Combining SECO’s Clea platform with our eIQ machine learning development environment, as well as delivering seamless support for our broad portfolio of MCX MCUs and i.MX applications processors will make it easier for NXP’s customers to bring products to market faster and more easily,” stated Luca Bartolomeo, Senior Director, Industrial Business Development at NXP Semiconductors.
“Clea is perfectly positioned to become an Open Standard for data-intensive IoT applications. Being acknowledged for its value by one of the world’s leading technology players marks a strategic milestone and represents yet another substantial technical validation for our platform. We will strive to be a key player in enabling Edge AI thanks to frameworks like NXP’s eIQ machine learning development environment, and we look forward to supporting NXP users in building their next big thing,” stated Massimo Mauri, CEO of SECO.
