SABERTEK launches Micro Genie: ‘Just add sensor for IoT’…

SABERTEK has announced the launch of its Micro Genie, a ready-to-go fully customisable, globally connected IoT solution that helps to quickly bring solutions to market.

Typically, an industrial IoT project is developed from scratch and sees the designing and specifying of individual components occur from the ground up for the specific use case. The Micro Genie has therefore been designed to utilise its GPS, Bluetooth Low Energy, accelerometer, inputs, outputs, and LTE connectivity for event-based applications.

With Micro Genie, 80% of the solution has been pre-developed, meaning that the engineer only needs to specify which sensors are required and in which manner the events and triggers should be set up. Micro Genie is pre-configured to provide a bidirectional upstream and downstream data flow and is connected via the LTE network to provide global connectivity in over 190 countries.

Micro Genie supports endless use cases, which include the following:

SABERTEK says that a key part of Micro Genie’s versatile appeal is its ability to instantly connect globally: there is no need to negotiate multi-country data plans. Global data connectivity is taken care of straight out-of-the-box. Data connectivity is provided by SABERTEK’s communications partner, u-blox Thingstream.

Said Charl Smalberger, Design Engineer, SABERTEK: “Developing IoT projects can be complex and time consuming. Micro Genie enables in-house teams and designers to get their project on the front foot. We have taken care of the hard work enabling teams to focus on the use case application.”
