At Embedded World 2024 in Nuremberg, Germany, NeoCortec, specialists in wireless connectivity and providers of ultra-low-power bi-directional wireless mesh network hardware and software solutions, showcased the simplicity of creating a comprehensive sensor-to-Cloud solution.
Using NeoMesh Click boards from MikroE and Avnet Abacus’s IoTConnect cloud solution, NeoCortec demonstrated their capabilities on their stand and across two exhibition halls.
NeoCortec established a NeoMesh wireless sensor network consisting of 35 nodes, each mounted in various locations. The entire setup was completed within a few hours, with the fully battery-powered network being activated simply by switching on the nodes in any order.
Data on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) was collected from the two exhibition halls, including measurements of temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide (CO2) levels. Additionally, the count of Bluetooth devices near each node was recorded to estimate the number of people present throughout the day. NeoCortec used NeoMesh Clickboards from MikroElektronika, combining three Clickboards on a development board with a battery for each node. A BeaglePlay board from Beagleboard, equipped with a NeoMesh Clickboard, acted as the gateway. The data was uploaded to Avnet’s IoTConnect cloud platform.
Dashboards were developed to visualise the IAQ data and Bluetooth beacon heatmap, enabling visitors to view them using the NeoMesh monitoring tool at NeoCortec’s stand.
