mPrest, a developer and supplier of advanced grid-aware and behind-the-meter Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS), has been selected by EDF Renewables Israel, a branch of the global energy firm EDF Renewables SA, known for developing, constructing, and operating renewable energy plants, to provide its DERMS platform. This collaboration aims to manage and enhance the profitability of EDF Renewables Israel’s distributed solar and storage assets.
As a frontrunner in Israel’s burgeoning competitive distributed energy sector, EDF Renewables Israel seeks to optimise its trading gains across energy markets, distributed generation and storage, and direct energy sales to consumers. The company requires a cutting-edge Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform, surpassing traditional VPP capabilities. This platform functions as a comprehensive orchestration system, integrating with various distributed generation sources and multiple Energy Management Systems (EMS) at extensive solar installations, facilitating complete energy-cost optimisation for all distributed generation and storage systems.
Natan Barak, CEO of mPrest, highlighted, “mPrest’s DERMS marks a significant advancement in energy innovation, offering seamless integration, management, and optimisation of varied energy resources. It embodies a strategic approach to fostering a more resilient and sustainable energy environment.” He added, “Following years of dedication to developing our architecture for distribution companies, we’re proud to extend our Enterprise DERMS to support Edge DERMS for VPPs and aggregators. Partnering with EDF Renewables to enhance their distributed flexibility and energy trading profitability is an honour for us.”
Ayalon Vaniche, CEO of EDF Renewables Israel, stated: “Our solar and storage-based VPP leverages distributed resources to optimise energy production, steering us towards a cleaner energy future. Our VPP is at the forefront of the transition to a more sustainable and efficient energy landscape.”
Ron Halpern, mPrest’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed: “mPrest’s DERMS is pioneering a novel phase in energy management. It integrates renewable sources, storage technologies, and sophisticated analytics to forge a dynamic and efficient energy ecosystem. We’re excited to spearhead a shift in energy dynamics, orchestrating a symphony of distributed energy resources to build a resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure, enhancing grid-edge flexibility, and cutting energy costs.”
