Softing Industrial has enhanced the capabilities of its Secure Integration Server (SIS) by incorporating the MQTT protocol, bolstering both connectivity and security for IT/OT cloud data integration tasks. This addition enables the SIS to offer superior security and connectivity capabilities, streamlining data integration processes.
The SIS provides a cohesive approach to managing complex server architectures, linking multiple OPC UA servers and their associated address spaces at the automation level. This integration facilitates a uniform representation of these address spaces, adhering to the OPC UA Companion Specification, thereby making the data accessible for IoT cloud applications through a standardised OPC UA interface.
With the latest SIS update to version 1.30, the inclusion of MQTT protocol (versions 3 and 5) enhances the security and versatility of data integration. Key features introduced with MQTT support include:
- MQTT Publisher & Subscriber: Supports two-way data exchange, enhancing communication efficiency.
- MQTT Authentication Settings: Offers secure client-broker interactions using various authentication methods, including anonymous, username, or certificates.
- MQTT Store&Forward Function: Minimises the risk of data loss.
- Various Publishing Modes and “Dynamic Payload”: Provides flexibility to meet diverse data handling needs.
- Support for up to 25 MQTT Connections: Facilitates seamless communication and offers a scalable solution.
Andreas Röck, Product Manager, remarked on the update: “Incorporating the MQTT protocol into our Secure Integration Server signifies our dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions for industrial data integration. The advanced security and connectivity features introduced with MQTT integration pave the way for more efficient and dependable data transmission for our clientele.”
