SECO, the Italian industrial technology company, has stepped up its Edge AI strategy with the launch of a new online Developer Centre and the release of seven additional AI apps through its Application Hub.
The dual announcements reflect the Milan-listed group’s ambition to position itself as a one-stop provider for companies building connected devices, combining technical documentation, ready-made algorithms and access to its Clea device-management framework.
The Developer Centre, unveiled earlier this month, offers engineers a centralised repository of resources including datasheets, software development kits, operating system images and tutorials.
It also provides lifecycle information such as product change notifications and revision histories, aimed at helping customers design long-term, reliable applications.
The Application Hub, meanwhile, has been expanded with seven new AI tools, ranging from a local chatbot based on Meta’s Llama model to forecasting software for smart buildings, defect detection in printed circuit boards, and audio event classification.
Each application is paired with technical documentation hosted on the Developer Centre, offering step-by-step guidance on deployment.
“We are enabling our clients to build powerful, custom AI/ML pipelines without getting bogged down by the underlying technological complexities,” said Fausto Di Segni, SECO’s Head of IoT and AI.
“By integrating the Application Hub, the instant Clea trial and the comprehensive documentation in our Developer Centre, we are giving anyone building a smart product the power to not only test our AI, but to apply it to their own data streams.”
The company plans to add turnkey deployment features to Clea later this year.
