Kontron, the US-based provider of embedded computing and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, has announced a deal to supply control systems to an unnamed multinational energy equipment manufacturer in a market forecast to grow by more than $100m in the coming years.
The partnership will see Kontron develop an IoT-based control system designed to improve efficiency and extend the lifecycle of energy infrastructure. The systems will underpin the manufacturer’s global operations and are aimed at supporting the shift towards more flexible and secure energy architectures.
Ted Christiansen, Chief Executive of Kontron Americas, said the collaboration reflected the company’s growing influence in industrial automation and energy systems. “Working with one of the largest multinational energy equipment manufacturers on such a critical initiative underscores the strength of Kontron’s technology and our dedication to solving complex industry challenges,” he said.
Kontron, which operates across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, has been expanding its presence in intelligent Edge computing and energy management solutions as demand for digitised industrial control systems rises.
The project marks the latest in a series of moves by Kontron to strengthen its position in the global energy technology market. Further details of the contract were not disclosed.
