Quintauris, the RISC-V ecosystem company backed by major semiconductor groups including Bosch, Infineon, NXP, and Qualcomm, has entered a strategic partnership with Taiwan’s Andes Technology, a leading supplier of RISC-V processor cores, in a move aimed at accelerating global adoption of the open-standard chip architecture.
The collaboration will see Andes’ RISC-V processor intellectual property integrated into the Quintauris ecosystem, a step the companies say will address industry concerns around interoperability, reliability, and long-term integration of RISC-V-based products.
Initially, the partnership will focus on Quintauris’ automotive real-time reference architecture, which incorporates Andes’ 32-bit ISO 26262-certified AndesCore processor. The collaboration is expected to extend across the full AndesCore processor range, targeting broader markets including automotive, industrial, and edge computing.
Pedro Lopez, Market Strategy Officer at Quintauris, said the tie-up marked “a significant milestone in our mission to accelerate the industrialisation of RISC-V.” He added that the collaboration “will help build a more aligned ecosystem that lowers adoption barriers and creates new opportunities for vendors and end users alike.”
RISC-V, an open-source instruction set architecture, has gained traction as an alternative to proprietary standards such as Arm and x86, particularly for applications where flexibility and customisation are key. However, industry observers have noted that fragmented implementations have slowed its commercial rollout.
