The CHERI Alliance, a global coalition dedicated to enhancing cybersecurity through groundbreaking hardware memory safety technology, is pleased to announce that BT Group has joined its ranks.

The CHERI Alliance is an international consortium uniting industry leaders, researchers, and governments to drive the adoption of Capability Hardware Enhanced RISC Instructions (CHERI) technology. CHERI technology offers a transformative approach to preventing memory safety vulnerabilities, which are the root cause of most cyber attacks, by incorporating hardware-enforced protections.
BT’s decision to join the CHERI Alliance underscores its commitment to staying at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation. The company will contribute its expertise in secure communications and network resilience, collaborating with other members to accelerate the deployment of CHERI technology across industries.

The Alliance has recently been named as a partner of the British government for the adoption of CHERI and operates a collaborative model through working groups. As well as raising awareness about the benefits of CHERI, the Alliance’s working groups offer recommendations, tools, open-source software, and documentation to accelerate product development and empower developers, fostering a robust ecosystem for CHERI adoption.
