WELOV, under the AiDot brand, has announced an upgrade to its P200 Pro Air Purifier, making it the first-ever air purifier in the market to be Matter-Certified. Matter, a universal connectivity standard, simplifies smart device integration across different brands and platforms, offering seamless communication. The Matter-certified P200 Pro Air Purifier allows users to easily incorporate it into their smart home ecosystems, providing effortless control and customization.
AiDot, a member of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) since 2022, achieved its first Matter certification in November 2022, following its success in Matter-compatible Smart Lighting Products. AiDot has seen significant success, having sold ten million bulbs used by 225,000 users, and receiving recognition from Smart Home Media. This success has motivated AiDot to extend its Matter-compatible range to home appliances, contributing to a safer, more convenient IoT landscape.
Research by D W Hacker1 and Sangita Vyas2 highlights that PM2.5 levels are higher at night, leading many, especially allergy sufferers, to use air purifiers during sleep. The P200 Pro tackles this issue by monitoring real-time environmental conditions (including PM2.5, wildfire, and pollen) and integrating with Apple Health. This integration allows for a pollution-free sleep environment, with the purifier adjusting its modes to match the user’s light and deep sleep cycles, enhancing sleep quality.

In response to customer feedback, WELOV has developed an innovative Sleep Mode for the P200 Pro, featuring:

- Synchronization with individual sleep patterns.
- Sound level monitoring for a conducive sleep environment.
- Customizable lighting effects.
The introduction of Matter certification is a significant stride for WELOV in creating a more interconnected ecosystem. While embracing the broader capabilities of the Matter protocol, WELOV continues to focus on enhancing product quality and functionality, as demonstrated by the new Sleep Mode. This mode is designed to enrich the user experience, offering not just smart functionality but also comfort and practicality.
The timeline for compatibility with the Matter 1.2 protocol (including integration with Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, and Smart Things) is yet to be confirmed, pending official notification from the Connectivity Standards Alliance. The Matter-Certified P200 Pro is slated for release on WELOV’s Amazon and AiDot store in March, coinciding with the launch of the upgraded Sleep Mode compatible with Apple Health.
