ABAX has moved to broaden its position in the asset-tracking market with the launch of ABAX Site Operations, a simplified real-time location system aimed at businesses seeking faster oversight of equipment across sites, warehouses, and yards.
The Larvik-based company, one of Europe’s larger providers of connected mobility and smart operations technology, said this week that the new platform offers a unified view of moving vehicles and equipment, combining mapping tools with automation and systems integration. The aim is to cut delays, streamline workflows, and reduce the time workers spend searching for tools or inventory.
The product is positioned as a lighter, cheaper alternative to traditional real-time location systems, which can require extensive infrastructure and lengthy deployment. ABAX said its set-up is quick, involves minimal maintenance, and can track assets indoors, outdoors, and in transit. The launch takes the group into a fresh segment of the tracking market, expanding its reach beyond its established telematics customer base.
“There is a clear demand for smarter, more accessible alternatives to traditional RTLS systems, which are often complex, expensive, and slow to deploy,” said Emma Dyga, Chief Executive Officer at ABAX. “With Site Operations, we are offering a simpler solution that gives customers fast, clear visibility of everything moving within and between sites, without the usual headaches. Being able to scale the solution for larger enterprises positions us well for continued growth, and strengthens our competitive footing.”
Built on ABAX’s existing platform, the system delivers what the company describes as enterprise-grade functionality without the cost of advanced, infrastructure-heavy RTLS deployments. It is designed for sectors including construction, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, and hospitality, where precise centimetre-level positioning is not essential but consistent visibility is.
Key features include tracking across indoor and outdoor areas, a plug-and-play installation, scalability from single-site to global operations, and readiness for IoT, 5G, and AI-enabled integrations.
The launch forms part of ABAX’s strategy to expand its smart operations offering at the intersection of mobility data and adaptive intelligence. The group, which serves more than 40,000 customers across Europe, said its platform is intended to help businesses manage assets in real time and optimise operations. It also provides data services for Usage-Based Insurance partnerships with insurers.
