Mouser Electronics is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the 2024 Matter Challenge in collaboration with Silicon Labs and Arduino. Open to participants of all skill levels, the Matter Challenge aims to inspire the Silicon Labs Community and beyond by encouraging the creation of innovative projects using the Arduino Nano Matter board, which can be sourced from Mouser. The contest is open until 31st October.
To take part in the Matter Challenge, participants must first create an account within the Silicon Labs Community. After that, they need to develop an original project centred on the Arduino Nano Matter board. Entries will be judged on criteria including innovation, potential impact, and project depth.
The Arduino Nano Matter board is powered by Silicon Labs’ robust MGM240S microcontroller. Designed to support the advanced Matter standard for IoT connectivity, it is suitable for both enthusiasts and professionals alike. With compact dimensions of 18 mm x 45 mm, the Nano Matter board is perfect for energy-efficient projects requiring connectivity options such as Bluetooth Low Energy and OpenThread. Users can leverage the wide range of peripherals and I/O options within the Arduino ecosystem to enhance device connectivity and project functionality.
The winner of the Matter Challenge will be announced on 7st November 2024 and will be awarded a $500 USD credit for use on Mouser.com, recognition at Silicon Labs’ Works With Virtual conference, a pair of Bose headphones, and additional prizes. All participants will also receive a three-month membership to the Novel Bits Bluetooth developer training programme.
Matter is a universal, IP-based connectivity protocol that simplifies the creation of IoT applications, ensuring seamless integration across a wide array of ecosystems, including smart homes, industrial automation, consumer electronics, smart agriculture, healthcare, and more.
