IMOU launch Cruiser 2 AI outdoor camera for smarter experience for smart homes

IMOU has introduced the Cruiser 2 AI outdoor camera, offering a more precise and intelligent experience for users of smart homes. Equipped with IMOU SENSE, a self-developed AI algorithm that enhances video, audio, navigation, and perception, the Cruiser 2 boasts up to 50% more accuracy than competing products.

Launched in London on the 9th of January 2024, IMOU, a global leader in smart security solutions, is proud to add the Cruiser 2 to its smart home portfolio. This camera, IMOU’s first full-colour smart pan and tilt outdoor model, is outfitted with the latest self-developed algorithms and powerful AI from IMOU SENSE. Available in both 3MP and 5MP resolutions, the Cruiser 2 combines an elegant appearance with unparalleled smart security capabilities. Retailing in the UK at major outlets such as B&Q, Freemans, Comet, and Ebuyer, the Cruiser 2 is priced at £69.99 for the 3MP version and £89.99 for the 5MP model.

Designed for comprehensive coverage, the Cruiser 2 features 360° Smart Tracking for a full panoramic view. With dual pan and tilt angles, it can rotate 340° horizontally and 90° vertically, tracking movements of people and vehicles automatically. Additionally, users can remotely control the rotation for panoramic views. Its built-in Hi-fi microphone and high-resolution capabilities enable clear two-way video communication, easily accessible through the Imou Life App.

The Cruiser 2 represents a significant improvement over many current home security cameras. Typically, AI algorithms in these cameras are limited by the computing power of the chip in the device, leading to generic performance that can cause false alarms or detection failures. To enhance AI performance and user experience, IMOU invested in R&D to develop IMOU SENSE with improved algorithms, leading to better detection accuracy, speed, and robustness in the Cruiser 2.

The Cruiser 2’s outdoor camera capabilities include a 99% recognition accuracy for humans and vehicles. Combined with IMOU SENSE, its AI detection becomes more efficient and accurate. Lab data demonstrates that the algorithm precision rate is increased by 20% to 50%. When the camera detects movement, algorithms can recognise objects and process data in just 20 milliseconds, quickly sending notifications to the Imou Life App.

Featuring a CMOS image sensor, a large F1.6 aperture, and a professional optical lens, the Cruiser 2 offers crisp and clear images even in low-light conditions. It provides various night vision modes, including Smart Mode, Full-color Mode, Infrared Mode, and Off Mode, adjustable according to user requirements.

Another standout feature is the Active Deterrence and Customisable Alert Tone. When activated, the camera triggers a loud alarm to deter intruders, while sending a notification to the mobile app. Users can customise the alert tone based on their specific requirements.

With an IP66 rating, the Cruiser 2 is durable against dust, rain, and wind, ensuring round-the-clock security. It also supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standards for faster data transfer and broader security coverage.

For video storage, there are three options: cloud storage with strict encryption, local storage on an SD card or NVR (supporting up to 256 GB and 24-hour recording), and compatibility with the Onvif protocol for mainstream NVRs. This versatility makes the Cruiser 2 a comprehensive and adaptable choice for smart home security.
