Starfleet Research has initiated three new market research surveys targeting hotel and resort IT directors and other hospitality industry professionals. These surveys will form the basis for three upcoming research reports, each focusing on different aspects of technology in hotels and resorts.
In its commitment to environmental protection, Starfleet Research will donate $5.00 to Ecologi, a non-profit organisation working on climate projects to offset carbon emissions, for every completed survey. A respondent who completes all three surveys will result in a total donation of $15. To date, Starfleet Research has contributed to over 50 climate projects and facilitated the planting of more than 800 trees.
Participants in the surveys will also gain complimentary access to the reports upon their publication in February 2024.
The first survey, titled “Hotel IoT Security: Best Practices and State of the Industry”, supported by Palo Alto Networks, investigates the adoption of IoT devices in hotel settings and the security protocols implemented to guard against cyberattacks. It also examines current challenges, past security breaches, and potential areas for improvement in IoT security within the hospitality sector.
The second survey, underwritten by VivoAquatics and titled “Hotel Pool and Spa Water Management: Best Practices and State of the Industry”, delves into contemporary pool and spa management practices. This includes water testing, handling guest complaints, sustainability efforts, and prospective enhancements in water management practices.
The third survey, supported by HID Global, part of Assa Abloy, is titled “Hotel Guest Data Capture and ID Verification Practices”. This survey focuses on the challenges faced by front desk operations, methods for capturing guest data, ID verification procedures, and the advantages of using ID document scanners during check-in.
Jeff Zabin, Research Director at Starfleet Research, expressed enthusiasm about launching these surveys in collaboration with leading technology solution providers in each respective field. He highlighted that participation in these surveys not only contributes to expanding industry knowledge but also supports environmental causes through the partnership with Ecologi.
