Cubic, the Dublin-based software-defined vehicle company, has partnered with humorously-named CarPay-Diem to launch its AI-powered in-vehicle payments platform, FleetWallet, across 12 European countries.
The agreement will extend FleetWallet to more than 5,300 fuel retailers in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, and Spain. The companies plan a further rollout across Europe next year, including the UK and Ireland.
FleetWallet integrates with existing fuel cards and telematics systems to automate payments and curb fuel misuse. Cubic says the platform’s data-driven fraud prevention and automated reconciliation can cut fuel costs by more than 10%. The system is aimed at a wide range of commercial fleets, including haulage and HGV operators, delivery vehicles, corporate fleets, car-sharing services, and emergency responders.
CarPay-Diem, which connects mobile apps and connected cars to pay-at-pump services, works with fuel brands such as Esso and Certas. The partnership broadens access to its network as Europe’s fleet market continues to expand. Industry data indicate that the region has more than 30.2 million commercial vehicles on the road, with France, Italy, and Spain accounting for almost half. Lithuania has recently reported a 113% rise in commercial vehicle sales, while Belgium recorded a 9.5% increase in registrations in early 2025.
Paul Foley, Commercial Director of FleetWallet, said the partnership would accelerate the company’s European growth: “Our work with GoCar Ireland has shown how AI can prevent fuel misuse and simplify payments for shared mobility fleets. Working with CarPay-Diem allows us to scale across Europe, where cross-border refuelling and services such as washing, parking, and tolling require seamless, secure, in-vehicle payment automation.”
Frédéric Stiernon, Chief Executive Officer of CarPay-Diem, said the collaboration would help deliver more consistent digital payment experiences across the region.
Cubic plans to expand FleetWallet with additional AI features in 2026, including advanced fraud detection, predictive analytics, and a conversational assistant that will allow fleet managers to interrogate operational data in real time.
