Software-as-a-service platform Copilot.cx has launched Copilot STAR, a new solution designed to simplify smart-home development by allowing manufacturers to deploy products across multiple IoT platforms through a single app framework.
The innovation addresses one of the sector’s enduring challenges: device fragmentation. Currently, consumers often need separate apps for each connected device, from lighting to thermostats and security systems. Copilot STAR says it consolidates these into a single, brand-controlled app, enabling a seamless user experience regardless of the underlying IoT technology.
“Smart-home technology has accelerated, but fragmentation continues to limit growth,” said Zvi Frank, Chief Executive of Copilot.cx. “Copilot STAR simplifies complexity for manufacturers, retailers, and consumers alike. Our mission is simple: democratise the smart home.”
The platform is intended to reduce development costs, accelerate time to market, and allow manufacturers to source from multiple suppliers simultaneously without creating multiple apps. Copilot.cx is also planning an AI-driven upgrade later this year, which will introduce ambient intelligence, self-learning capabilities, and automated decision-making, along with new monetisation models such as subscriptions and personalised device behaviours.
Copilot.cx positions itself as a partner for manufacturers seeking to improve consumer engagement through data-driven, behaviour-based communications, while enhancing product adoption and lifetime value.
The company will showcase the platform at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
